December 4, 2017Pacifica House in northern San Diego County provides highly skilled in-patient care for short-term stays. Hospice of the North Coast has a localized service area to provide premium care within its communities. Those communities include Camp Pendleton, Carlsbad, Bonsall, Del Mar, Cardiff, Escondido, Carmel Valley, Encinitas, La Jolla, Oceanside, San Marcos, Solano Beach, Fallbrook, Leucadia, Rancho Santa Fe, Vista, and Olivenhain. Times may arise when pain and other symptoms are too overwhelming for continued in-home care, and that’s where Pacifica House comes in. It is for short-term stays, providing in-patient care, in a nurturing “home-away-from-home” environment, where highly skilled professionals can manage pain and symptoms until such time that patient and family can return to their own home.
Caring and Nurturing Home-Like Environment
When you enter Pacifica House, you are welcomed into a home-like environment that is warm, caring, and nurturing. Patients have private rooms and bathrooms with all the comfortable amenities found at home. Doctors, nurses, and pharmacy staff provide 24/7 round-the-clock care. Bereavement counseling, companionship, and volunteers are all available on-site at Pacifica House. Families are able to stay at Pacifica House with their loved ones.
Art, Music, Massage, and Pet Therapies Provided
A variety of integrated therapies can be helpful in creating a soothing and calming atmosphere for the soul, which can, in turn, reduce anxiety and often can reduce pain as well. The healing properties associated with art, music, massage, and pet therapies can bring about an overall feeling of well-being and serenity. These programs can be incorporated at Pacifica House.
Highly Skilled Professionals Manage Severe Pain and Other Symptoms
The goal of Pacifica House professionals is to get severe pain and/or symptoms under control so the patient and family can return home. This is just an interim home for assistance to help families continue in their journey, in their own home, with the assistance of hospice care, providing the best quality of life for their loved ones with a life-limiting illness.
Pacifica House is a haven for those seeking comfort from severe pain and other symptoms related to the progression of a terminal illness. It is centered around and focused on improving a patient’s quality of life.
