Volunteer at a Glance
Here’s what to know if you’re considering becoming a Patient Care Volunteer:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Minimum one-year commitment
- 2–4 hours per week when on assignment
- Timely documentation required
- Background check & annual TB test required
- Attendance at all training sessions is mandatory

Volunteer Training Overview
Patient care volunteering involves close interaction with individuals and families during a deeply meaningful time. That’s why comprehensive training and screening are essential.
The Screening Process Includes:
- Introductory interview and orientation
- Completion of a ~30-hour training course
- Final assessment by a volunteer supervisor
